Woking has the oldest mosque in the country - the Shah Jehan Mosqu which dates to 1889.
Woking has many historic churches including St. Mary's Church in Horsell and St. Peter's Church at the end of the High Street, both of which date to the 12th century. Also St. Nicholas' Church in Pyrford which has remained virtually unchanged since the 11th century.
Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler from the Jam were all born in Woking. So any budding mods out there, this is the place to get married!
